On April 12th, 2006,
after 18 years of excellent success in the
survey market, Carlson Software officially
retired SurvCADD, our original
AutoCAD-based survey and civil design
software. Carlson Software replaced the
original SurvCADD with two new separate
products -- Carlson Survey and Carlson
Civil -- based on evolutions of SurvCADD’s
three basic modules: survey, surface and
design. And now we have Carlson Survey
2009 and Carlson Civil 2009.
Carlson Survey 2009 is
designed for the surveyor while Carlson
Civil 2009 is designed for the civil
engineer. However, although these products
are designed to be used independently,
both packages communicate seamlessly with
each other.
Carlson Survey 2009 has been designed to
run inside AutoCAD 2009 and on IntelliCAD
6.4. It will also install and work inside
AutoCAD 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2002
and even 2000. It is so versatile that it
also installs and works with the newest
and even older versions of AutoCAD Map,
Land Desktop and Civil 3D. And it
contains the Network Least Squares program
called SurvNET.
Carlson SurvCE, our field data
collection software, works together with
our office software Carlson Survey 2009
for seamless integration from field to
office and back. Carlson SurvCE works with
all brands of survey equipment:
conventional total stations, robotic total
stations, and RTK GPS survey gear. Survey
offices and survey departments throughout
the US and the world are finding this
obvious combination the most productive,
straightforward survey solution for their
field and office needs.

System Requirements (Standalone)
The recommended system
requirements for Carlson Survey 2009 Embedded AutoCAD® are the similar to
those of AutoCAD.
System requirements for users who are focusing on 2D
drawing creation are as follows:
 | Intel® Pentium® IV processor recommended |
 | Microsoft® Windows Vista™, Microsoft® Windows® XP
Professional or Home Edition (SP1 or SP2), Windows XP Tablet PC
Edition (SP2), or Windows 2000 (SP3 or SP4) |
 | 512 MB RAM |
 | 750 MB free disk space for installation |
 | 1024x768 VGA display with true color |
 | Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP1 or higher)
|
System requirements for users who are taking advantage
of the new conceptual design capabilities are as follows:
 | Intel® processor 3.0 GHz or greater |
 | Microsoft® Windows Vista™ or Windows XP
Professional (SP2) |
 | 2 GB RAM or greater |
 | 2 GB of disk space available, not including
installation |
 | 1280x1024 32-bit color video display adapter (true
color) |
 | 128 MB or greater, OpenGL®-capable
workstation class graphics card. |
Less capable machines can run Carlson Survey 2009, but
the results may be less than ideal. Sufficient swap space is also required
to handle the installation of Carlson Survey 2009 as well as any data or
drawing files saved. The use of additional memory or faster processors
will directly improve performance and capacity.
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition and Windows Vista
64-bit will allow application to run in 32-bit mode.
No Longer Officially Supported:
Microsoft Windows 3.x or earlier, 95 and 98, NT.
