| Air testing*
of sewer lines has been proven to be an accurate and reliable way to
detect and locate leaks. Air-Loc® Testing Systems from Cherne are
available in three different packages: |
1. Air-Loc
Line Acceptance Kit-Used to perform a low-pressure air test from manhole
to manhole. If a leak is detected, additional equipment is required.
2. Air-Loc Leak Location Kit-Used for both sewer air testing and leak
detection by isolating sections of the line to determine where a leak is
located. Two plugs are pulled through the line and an air test is
performed every 20 feet.
3. Air-Loc Trailer-Used to perform both line acceptance and leak
location tests as well as provide a trailer to house accessories and air
compressor.
The American Society for Testing and Materials covers three
specifications for low- pressure air testing of sewer pipe:
ASTM C828 - Vitrified Clay Pipe Lines
ASTM C924 - Concrete Pipe Sewer Lines
ASTM F1417 - Plastic Gravity Sewer Lines |
