Using the Laser Positioning System (LPS),
aim at the first target and take a shot. Target the second object and
shoot again. Press a button and get the Azimuth, Inclination and Slope
Distance from the first to the second point; as well as Horizontal and
Vertical Distance. Great for span lengths, remote slope determinations and
changes in elevation. |

You've been tasked with clearing a
right-of-way of all possible danger trees. Grab your Impulse 200 LR and
position yourself either under the conductor or at the tree in question.
After measuring the tree height, take a shot to the conductor. Press a
button to have the line clearance value displayed – if it is negative,
mark the tree to be cut. |

Gathers X, Y, Z data points on the
attachments and various points along the conductor allowing you to move
the LPS to a new location for long spans or rough terrain. Take shots to
obstacles and the ground also. You have your choice of either collecting
the data and processing it later; or getting values for Span, Sag and
Tension in the field with the press of a button. |

| Includes four routines for determining a
conductor's height above ground or some other point of reference--all
routines making certain assumptions about the work site.
Height Routine - using standard Impulse Height firmware; assumes
you can point to a spot below the cable to get the base angle.
VP Conductor & Height of Instrument - assumes level ground between the operator and the
area below a conductor.
VD Conductor & VD Ground - assumes level ground at the area below a
conductor.
Find Horizontal Distance - for
most other cases where the ground under a conductor is uneven. |

| You need to know what direction
to anchor the guy wire at a bend point in a new line. Simply occupy the
bend point and measure Azimuths away in both directions. Press a button to
display your answer. |

Store Raw Data: stores
any raw data string sent from the Impulse
and/or MapStar Compass . Allows
the entry of text notes to be stored with the measurements. Useful for
logging miscellaneous distances, angles, heights, etc.
T&D Office:
Windows download program to transfer your data files off the data
collector onto the PC. Append several files together then sort them by
file type if you wish. Click on a button and re-create your Span, Sag and
Tension data. Save and export the data for further analysis.
