Variety of Connections for Greater Versatility traditional tie-back offerings have been limited to standard sized snap hooks with smaller gates. When using these safety lanyards in non tie-back applications the size of connection point is limited. With the new compatibility guidelines larger snap hooks (also known as rebar or pelican hooks) can now be used in tie-back applications giving the user the ability to snap into various anchorage points or tie back around them. Large aluminum size snap hooks with a 2-1/4” gate openings are light weight and easy to carry. Large flat alloy steel snap hooks with a2-1/2” gate openings fit a variety of anchors including many concrete wall forms. Double action carabiners with a 2-3/16” gate use a captive eye to help prevent roll out.

Traditional hook designs are not intended for tying back, however, many workers mistakenly use their standard hooks to tie-back. Should the worker fall with a standard hook tied back, the forces may inadvertently end up on the gate which is not intended for load-bearing, causing it to fail open and injure the worker. The new WrapBax™2 hook offers a unique look to easily differentiate from standard hooks and provides 5,000 lbs. strength – even on the gate. WrapBax™2 provides the worker with a tool they will use safely, eliminating the need for a separate anchorage connector, reducing inventory and cost, simplifying inspections, training and improving compliance. The WrapBax™2 comes in two shock absorber styles: the EZ-Stop II® for tying off over-head or the Force2™ for tying off at your feet.

Capital Safety DBI SALA Force 2 Safety Lanyards

Our Force2™ shock absorbing lanyards are the ONLY safety lanyards available on the market that can take a 12 foot free fall and still keep forces below OSHA’s limits when tying off at your feet. Use the powerful Force2™ shock absorbing lanyard when there is no overhead anchorage and your only option is to tie off at your feet – a situation often faced by iron workers. Because this creates a much greater free fall distance, standard shock absorbers will bottom out, putting dangerous forces on your body. It can also be used with a greater capacity lanyard is required for the worker.

Every DBI-SALA lanyard combines super strength and ease of use without sacrificing safety. All lanyard hardware is proof tested to meet or exceed industry standards before you even get it. Standard on all DBI-SALA lanyards are our patented, user-friendly self locking snap hooks. They allow you to open and close the hook even with gloves on without getting your thumb or fingers in the way, they’re industry preferred!
